This week in Melbourne, we dined on Italian porcelain from the Taitu collection (see photo) at an event which was aesthetically pleasing both to the eye and the taste buds.

My philosophy of relaxed dining at home slowly, and in good company, is in synergy with that of the founder of Taitu

" Eating well at a beautiful table, to look each other in the eye and talk, is THE way to relax from the day's stress"

Emilio Bergamin.

Our urban chic venue, was a perfect setting for Susie's gastronomic performance, and a sampling of some exclusive wines from Spain and France.

Antipasto colourfully tantalising with smoked salmon atop blinis smothered in Crème Fraîche. Accompanied by a Rose from the south of France.

Light salmon in colour with alpine strawberries and raspberries on the nose.

This was followed by an entree of Risotto Milanese, saffron sensual, and creamy to the taste buds. Complimented by Albet I Noya El Fanio 2011, a peachy white wine from a family vineyard just outside of Barcelona.

Our main course, Osso Buco - veal being a lighter meat, flavours were enhanced by a Martinelle Ventoux 2009. What a classy wine!!

It is rich in dark fruit and perfect with this dish.

Fresh green salad to cleanse the palette dressed with EVOO and red wine vinegar.

Perfection - lovely company, lively conversation, and our hosts relaxing in their own home while Cuisine Adagio, led by Susie, delivers a culinary performance.

This time of year, it is a particularly good idea to take off the stress of entertaining, not to mention the chaotic atmosphere of restaurants.

Dine at home with your personal chef.

If you would like to see more of Taitu - head down to the TROVATA store on Bay St Brighton.

Oh and did I mention? We finished the evening with a scrumptious, Marsala & mascarpone Tiramisu - nothing compares to the simplicity of this decadent desert.

Are your taste buds turned on dear reader?

Buon Appetitto !!

Susie
